SECURUS TRAINING
"Congratulations on the purchase of your new Access Control System! Now, let's make sure it doesn't lock out your boss. . ." Certainly, these are words of wisdom. Now that you have it, optimizing your system capabilities through training of your system operators is an important priority.
When you attend one of our classes you will be provided with System Administrator Level Training for your specific access control system and learn how to organize your system, administer your database and train your system operators.
Classes at our Training Facility are conducted on several personal computers so that more individuals may participate in hands-on training. The controlled environment at our Training Facility makes class time more productive for your trainees by eliminating telephone and drop-in interruptions. Training is provided in a classroom setting using both demonstrations of software capabilities and hands-on use of the computer equipment.
Wherever possible, software instruction is directed toward providing actual setup configurations based upon uses you anticipate. Sample schedules, cardholder entries, door configurations, report printing and other useful applications are a normal part of the training. Prior to participation in our class we will ask that you complete an information gathering document which helps us to prepare for the training and to assure special circumstances of your security system installation that require special training emphasis will be covered.
Most of the access control software we provide runs on Microsoft Windows® operating systems. An important point to remember for any of our classes is that persons wishing to gain the most from the training class and wanting to effectively use the software must have mastered the following Microsoft Windows® software skills:
- Ability to use a computer keyboard.
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows® Explorer, Desktop and
Notepad.
- Ability to use the mouse for clicking, double-clicking,
dragging.
- Ability to move around in Windows® using scrolling bars.
- Ability to move, size, resize, open and close a window.
- Ability to select a particular window from several on a
desktop.
- Ability to locate, open, copy, move and delete files.
- Ability to create a shortcut to a program.
Persons lacking these abilities will find the training particularly difficult because these skills must be learned at the same time as the access software is being learned. In the event the software you will be using is something other than Microsoft Windows® based, we would likewise expect those attending classes would be familiar with the particular operating system software in order to prepare for use of the access control system software running on your machine.
